S.N. Vol #7

Germany Round 2

Feb. 17th Vol.7

Well, I had such a great time in Iraq that yes, I decided to go back.  I had a great time back in the states seeing everyone and getting my vengeance on a select few that were in on the Birthday Pony.  If you are a first time reader to SandBox News you have two options before continuing this story that will help you get up to speed.

#1 Go back and read all publications that I have wrote, I will be referencing situations from time to time when I run out of new things to say.

#2 Stop reading now and do something more productive with your time.   Seriously.

Now onto the News!!

So I just completed my Trains planes and Automobiles tour to get over to Germany which consisted of the following trip itinerary.

1 hour drive to DFW

1 hour wait

3 hour flight from Dallas - LaGarbage NY

2 hour airplane sim in NY LaGarbage

.5 hour bus ride from LaGarbage NY - JFK NY

4 hour wait - bored / annoyed / latte

7.5 hour flight from JFK NY - London Heathrow

1 hour wait -rushed / annoyed

2 hour flight from London Heathrow - Frankfurt Germany

5 hour wait for van  -very, very annoyed

2 hour van ride Frankfurt Germany - Ramstein Germany.

Total Time up= 29 hours

Total Time annoyed = 28 hours and 48 min.  (I had a nice Latte that took me 12 min to drink.)

So far so good in Germany.  I have yet to get into any awkward situations.   Although when I did come in the door at the hotel the clerk said in German under his breath.  " Es ist die wer Idiot beinahe brannte außer die Hotel." And then he got out the fire exstinguisher and put it under his desk.  Smart. I am pleased to announce that I did accomplish one of the items over here on my Bucket List. (reference Bucket List movie staring Jack Nicholson and old Black Guy...whats his name?? Oh I can't remember...Oh well, lets just say Cuba Gooding Jr.)

I was able to order and eat Weiner Schnitzel while in Germany!!  Now, I thought for sure it was going to be sausage of some sort, man was I way off.  Here is a link for all your Weiner Schnitzel needs.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiener_Schnitzel

Hugh.....turns out that the movie Sound of Music has quite a few things in one of the songs "My favorite things" that are indeed on my bucket list.  Ref- "Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels, doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles".  Weird.

Well, that's all I have to say as of now.  I should be heading out of here in about 6 hours on my way into Iraq.   I will post up a new SandBox News as soon as I get settled and I do something stupid......so look for the next issue in about 12 hours.  I did ship stuff over to Iraq that is sure to bring about plenty of material to be used in upcoming issues.  I shipped over my RC Airplane and Helicopter.  I can see the SandBox News heading now "RC Airplane Lands in Minefield!!"  And for the love of everything holy, I better see a freaking camel on this tour!!!  That's the news from the battlefield.
